Larry Lee Bennett, 58, of Mackinaw, formerly of Metamora, passed away at 2:34 a.m. on Sunday, December 25, 2011, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center Emergency Room. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2011, at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue in Peoria, with Pastor Dan Capperrune officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Larry was born in Eddyville, IA on September 13, 1953, a son of Shelby C. and Lurla L. (Bohannan) Bennett. They preceded him in death, along with one brother and three sisters. He married Carolyn Sue Pitcher in Norwood on June 19, 1982. She survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Tanya D. (Sean) Maxwell of Mackinaw; sisters, Lorine (Herb) Simpson and Mary Pope of Brimfield, Linda Busby of Peoria and Betty (John) Thierer of Washburn; and three grandchildren, Brendan, Zachary and Olivia Maxwell. Larry was employed with Alter Metal Recycling in Bartonville and was formerly employed with Metamora Industries and Kitchen Made Pies. He was a member of Set Free Christian Fellowship Church in Washington and was always willing to donate his time to anyone who needed help.
